Samsung Galaxy Chat officially unveiled, coming this month with ICS and QWERTY keyboard

Just 24 hours after picking up on a couple of leaks regarding a future Samsung entry-level phone, Sammy has already gone up and made the handheld official. The GT-B5330, as we knew it yesterday, will be marketed as the Samsung Galaxy Chat and will hit Europe by the end of the month.
The Galaxy Chat is a low-end device in the true sense of the word and will not draw much attention with its power or looks, but the phone does have two pleasant surprises for tech enthusiasts on a budget. Set to run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, the 3-incher will also come with a physical QWERTY keyboard, being therefore a lot more functional than your regular run-of-the-mill entry-level phone.
While the QWERTY keyboard should help Samsung market this as a phone for the social media and chatting enthusiast, that doesn’t help its overall look and feel one bit. Measuring a pretty decent 11.7 mm (0.46 inches) in thickness and weighing in at 112 grams (3.95 ounces), the Galaxy Chat simply looks rigid and a bit unrefined, at least as far as I’m concerned.
Getting over these somewhat shallow observations, we have to urge you to not expect much “oomph” from the Galaxy Chat. Neither the new phone’s processor, nor its RAM has been mentioned in Samsung’s formal introduction of the device, which is anything but a good sign.
